Official Rules

  • Upon submitting his/her application and payment of the entry fee, an applicant declares that he/she agrees to and accept these Terms & Conditions, the Official Event Rules and all other rules and regulations which may be adopted by the Organizer from time to time.
  • Upon submitting his/her application and payment of the entry fee, no fee is refundable.
  • A registration confirmation email by the Organizer will be sent to your registered email within seven(7) working days after your registration and payment procedure is completed.
  • Child participants must be at age of twelve(12) or younger as of April 14 2024 to participate and receive a child-exclusive gift.
  • Parental/Legal Guardian consent is required for participants at age below eighteen(18).
  • Free baggage deposit services will be provided by the Organizer for registered participants to deposit their clean clothes (e.g., shirts, pants, socks and shoes). Do not deposit any valuable items, fruits or water.

Physical and Health Condition

  • Participants should be aware of and understand the risks involved in taking part in his/her walk, and acknowledge the degree of fitness required to take part therein.
  • Any person who is pregnant or suffering from any chronic disease such as heart disease or high blood pressure or is suffering from or has any symptoms any contagious disease should not participate in the Event. The Organizer reserves the right to disallow/disqualify any person who is known to have any such condition. The Organizer at its sole discretion has the right to suspend any participant who appears or is suspected to be physically unfit or suffering from or having any symptoms of any contagious disease to participate in the Event.
  • All participants are urged to seek medical advice of his/her physical condition before participating in the Event. By submitting his/her application to take part in the Event and subsequently taking part in the Event, a participant:
    • warrants and confirms to the Organizer that he/she is physically fit to participate in and complete his/her walk without any medical or other assistance and that he/she is not suffering from and does not have any symptoms of any contagious disease; and
    • agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer from all losses and damages, including but not limited to:
      • any injury or death suffered by the participant himself/herself or any other persons;
      • any damage to property; and
      • any other participants or officials and staff of the Organizer contracting any contagious disease as a result of him/her not being physically fit to participate in and complete the walk or him/her suffering from any contagious disease.

“2.5KM – Pet” Category Terms & Conditions

Be a considerate pet owner, by bringing your pet to participate in the SKECHERS FRIENDSHIP WALK HONG KONG 2024 (the “Event”), you (“Pet Owners”) are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to follow the rules and regulations below:

  • Only domesticated pet dogs (“Pet(s)”) are permitted to enter the designated Event area. All other animals are prohibited, unless with prior written consent from SKECHERS HONG KONG.
  • Each entry will be eligible for one Pet-exclusive gift (one adjustable 30cm-55cm pet scarf). Additional participants are not eligible for Pet gift.
  • All participating dogs/Pets must be at least five(5) months old and in good health. Female dogs in heat will not be admitted.
  • Pet(s) are permitted to walk or stay in the designated Event route at the West Kowloon Cultural District (“WKCD”). All dogs/Pets are required to be on leash not longer than 1.5 meters in length. Additionally, dogs/Pets weighing 20kg or above must be securely muzzled and held on a leash.
  • Your Pet(s) should not be left unattended under any circumstances. Pet Owners must manage their dogs/Pets at all times. All dogs/Pets must be leashed.
  • If a dog/Pet shows any signs of abnormal health on the day of the Event, the Organizer will not be responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur.
  • Pet Owners should ensure at all times that their Pets are under proper control during the Event period. They shall prevent their Pet(s) from making excessive noise, and are effectively restrained from causing nuisance or danger to others.
  • Pet Owners should keep the environment clean and hygienic at all times. Pet Owners shall immediately clean up any faeces or urine their Pets have deposited and shall provide their own sealed bags, containers and/or tools for proper waste disposal.
  • According to statutory requirement, except for guide dogs & dogs in connection with the exercise of a lawful power, all dogs/Pets are not allowed to enter restaurants or supermarkets. Offenders are liable to prosecution.
  • Pet Owners are solely responsible for any damage or injury caused by their Pet(s) to other persons or pets, the property of WKCD, or any third party.
  • During the Event period, in case of accidents caused by their pets, Pet Owners are liable to the concerned parties and will be responsible for all medical and other expenses related to the accident.
  • Pet Owners should fully and effectually indemnify SKECHERS HONG KONG from and against all actions, proceedings, claims and demands whatsoever arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with any damage or injury caused by their Pet(s) and any such act, deed, matter or thing done or omitted as aforesaid and all costs and expenses in connection therewith.
  • SKECHERS HONG KONG is not liable to any Pet Owner or to any person or persons whomsoever whether claiming through, under or in trust for any Pet Owner or otherwise, for or in respect of any act, deed, matter or thing done or omitted in pursuance or purported pursuance of the above rules and regulations.
  • If the above guidelines are violated, or nuisance is caused to other WKCD visitors/Event participants, the staff of SKECHERS HONG KONG and WKCD Facilities Management staff reserve the right to request the Pet Owner(s) to leave Event or WKCD area with their Pets.
  • In case of any dispute, SKECHERS HONG KONG will reserve the right to make the final decision.

Walk Kit Pick-Up/Collection

  • All Event participants are required to collect his/her Walk Kit within assigned time period at the designated location specified in the registration confirmation email. Late collection is not allowed. The Organizer reserves the right to revoke participants’ right to collect the Walk Kit without prior notice.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to, without prior notice, not distribute the Walk Kit to registrants who failed to collect their Walk Kit within the assigned pick-up period at the designated location. No Walk Kit will be distributed on the day of Event.
  • Please choose the size of your Event T-shirt in the Walk Kit during your registration. Once collected, no return or exchange is accepted for the T-shirt.
  • If there is no option of a particular size of T-shirt in the registration system, it means that particular size is already out of stock. Once the size of T-shirt is submitted and payment is completed, the registrant cannot amend the size of T-shirt.
  • If there is no option of a particular pick-up location in the registration system, it means the quota of that particular location is full and unavailable. Please select another location.

Route Alteration 

  • The Organiser reserves the right to change or alter any parts of the running route before and during the walk without prior notice in the Event of unexpected road conditions or emergency. A walk may be temporarily suspended for emergency or any other incidents during the walk. Participants must follow the instructions of walk officials or any law enforcement officers on site in the Event of emergency or any incident.

Instructions Given by Walk Officials

  • Instructions given by the Organiser and walk officials must be followed. The Organiser reserves the right to reject future applications of a participant who has refused to follow instructions of the walk officials for all future Skechers Friendship Walk Hong Kong and other walks organised by the Organiser.

General Rules

  • Walk officials reserve the right to ask a participant to leave the walk course immediately, in case he/she is found using any external auxiliary equipment during the walk, expect for prosthetic limb(s).
  •  Participation in the Event is personal to the applicant and all applicants are strictly prohibited from swapping, selling, auctioning, transferring or offering to swap, sell, auction or transfer their successful entry or their place in the Event or allow or permit any other person to wear his/her bib number allocated to him/her. Any breach of this rule shall render the entry void and both the guilty applicant, and the substituted participant shall be subject to disciplinary action by the Organiser including exclusion from participation in future walks organised by the Organiser.

Disqualification

  • The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any person and nullify his or her result due to any violation, breach or non-observance of any rules, laws and regulations in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, or the Official Competition Rules set for the Event. The Organiser shall not be obliged to refund any entry fee under such circumstance.

Event Cancellation

  • Should the Event be cancelled due to weather or other circumstances beyond the control of the Organiser or in the case of a force majeure resulting in the Event being cancelled, no fee is refundable. The Organiser shall have no other responsibilities and/or liabilities in relation to such cancellation. 

Force Majeure

  • Includes and is not limited to the Organiser being unable to perform its obligations or organise or hold the Event due to fire, flood, earthquake, or other severe natural disaster or act of God; or due to protest, riot, civil disobedience, uprising, march, revolt, assembly, demonstration, occupation, commotion, mass gathering, war, terrorist, insurrection, sabotage, epidemic, pandemic, COVID-19 or other similar contagious disease or government intervention or prohibition or the likelihood of such Event or act.

Weather

  • The Organiser may cancel the Event if tropical cyclone warning signal no.3 or above, or if a red or black rainstorm signal is hoisted by the Hong Kong Observatory at 4 am or thereafter on the walk day. Please pay special attention to the weather forecast the night before the Event as it will indicate whether tropical cyclone warning signals, red or black rainstorm signals are likely to be hoisted in the forthcoming period. Please follow updates on the radio or TV announcements regarding the status of the Event from 4 am onwards, as well as the Event website and social media platforms.
